Thanksgiving night, a special delivery was made to our doorstep....The Elf on the Shelf. This is a darling book that explains how Santa knows if boys and girls are naughty or nice leading up to Christmas. He delivers a special elf. There are a few rules, you have to name your elf, Maddie named ours "Elfy." You are not allowed to touch him, but you can talk to him and tell him your wishes for Santa.
Every night after bedtime, Elfy flies home to the North Pole to report that days activities to Santa. Then, he returns before morning and "hides" in a new spot. We have a hunt for Elfy every morning. Elfy has been very helpful at encouraging good behavior, now if only we had some extra help like this every month of the year :)
