Curious George
So, if you haven't noticed by now! I have a thing for monkey's. And, now Maddie does too! So, when I discovered Curious George Live was coming to the Sprint Center, I bought tickets instantly. After a week of anticipation, we arrived at the Sprint Center on Thursday night! We had been bribing Maddie all week to do things, or we were not going to get to go see Curious George. I know, not the best tactic, but it worked! Maddie and I had multiple funny conversations about Curious George. We read some of his books, and even watched him on TV. On tv and in the storybooks Curious George looks like a small monkey, therefore Maddie decided on the way to the show that she wanted to "hold" him. Hmmm, this might not go so well. We get inside to find a fun booth selling Curious George goodies, and we purchased a lovely pennant, and a light wand! Maddie was giddy! After stopping at three more different lines, cotton candy, pop, kettle corn we were ready for the show! We had great seats and the set of the show was darling! After a few minutes into the show, Maddie soon made the realization that Curious George was a BIG monkey and that she could not hold him. Phew! It was a precious show, Maddie loved every minute! She poked down two different packages of cotton candy, popcorn and a pop! Nutritious! What a special night the three of us had! We loved the BIG monkey, and I love my Maddie Monkey too!
Halloween Fun 2009
Wow, what a busy month October was! Maddie is such a fun age right now! We had a blast doing lots of halloween activities! After much thought we narrowed down her many choices for costumes to be a doggie! I was afraid to purchase a costume too early, because everytime we would ask Maddie what she wanted to be, it was a different answer! We went through Mermaid, Barney, Duck, Pig, Pooh, and a few others! Finally she decided she wanted to be a doggie with a black nose like one of our dogs. So, we hunted down the perfect costume, and a perfect doggie she was! We had many opportunities for her to strut her stuff as a doggie! On Tuesday, I volunteered as a room Mommy at her preschool. With Mimi's help we made treat buckets for everyone in her class, and made a pin the Nose on the Pumpkin game to play. All of her classmates we dressed up, and we paraded through to church to trick or treat. On Wednesday, we went to our usual storytime at the Library, although this time all of the kids were dressed up in costume, and it just happend to be letter "H" day! Finally, on Halloween we completed our week carving pumpkins with daddy (he had to get out his jigsaw to cut through some of the pumpkins). Maddie had fun gutting the pumpkins and getting the seeds everywhere! Finally it was time to dress up and go trick or treating. Mommy dressed up as a witch, and daddy was a "dog trainer". We walked our neighborhood, and ended at Mimi and Papa's for a special treat!
